Campaigns
The members and leaders of Placer People of Faith Together are committed to deeply listening to the concerns and ideas of our neighbors. Through one-on-one conversations and house meetings, we ensure that the actions and campaigns we pursue bring meaningful relief and solutions—especially for those who have historically been marginalized—while benefiting the broader community as a whole.
Affordable Housing in Placer County
Shawna Purvines, Principal Planner for the Placer County Community Development Resource Agency, stated: “We’re facing a major housing crisis in Placer County. Over the next eight years, we need to build: • 3,409 units for low and very low-income families of four earning less than $65,000, and • 1,319 units for moderate-income families of four earning less than $96,000. Placer County is committed to making this happen.” These figures come from the Housing Element and represent the Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) for the 2021–2029 planning cycle.

How we work
We collaborate with local communities, volunteers, and donors to achieve our goal of making a meaningful impact on people's lives. Our non-profit organization strives to make a positive difference in society by supporting those in need.
Referral for Legal Assistance
If you are seeking legal support in Placer County, we recommend CapCity Legal Services, a nonprofit law firm based in Roseville, CA, that operates on a sliding scale to ensure accessibility. Immigration Reform & Pathways to Citizenship
Our work in each community includes holding research meetings with local officials and partners, as well as inviting guest speakers to share critical information with those who need it most. Efforts are especially growing around strengthening relationships between local law enforcement and the Latino community, expanding access to education, and increasing civic participation through voter outreach. We believe that leadership development, a deep understanding of our local context, and action rooted in our faith values will move us closer to creating the kind of inclusive and just community we envision for Placer County.
Criminal Justice Issues
Placer People of Faith Together works to build strong local alliances between Placer County law enforcement and our communities. We also advocate for local and state policy changes aimed at eliminating disparities in the justice system and promoting healing and restoration for all. Since January 2020, a dedicated group has been meeting monthly to study criminal justice issues specific to Placer County..
Restorative Justice
Our current criminal justice system often focuses on the question, “What punishment does this offender deserve?”—overlooking the needs of victims, offenders, and communities. This approach prioritizes punishment rather than rehabilitation, accountability, and healing. Restorative justice offers a more holistic path forward by addressing harm, fostering dialogue, and supporting true restoration for all parties involved.
